Facebook, Vegetarians, Animals and Slaughter Houses
In 12 years of web design, 21 years of communication and media, and the relatively short life of Facebook – it is the first time EVER I have seen a post on Facebook encouraging so much of a debate.
A certain person of the female variety (who from now onwards will remain totally anonymous) made a post on Facebook, probably totally unaware of the amount of attention she was going to cause. Now, lets not be unfair to her – afterall, she is quite a pretty girl, and I very much doubt lives in the countryside (I know that simply from looking at her Facebook profile picture), posted a comment on Facebook (see below for her comment and all followup responses at the time of writing this), regarding the inhumane slaughter of animals, and blamed meat eaters for the cause – I can only assume innocently to promote vegetarianism amongst her peers.
I don’t think she quite anticipated the interest she has subsequently caused…………..but as both a meat eater, countryside inhabitant, and a dog owner, I felt it unjust not to promote the debate further – afterall, Facebook is designed exactly with this in mind; yet over a period of more than a couple of hours; not very good at doing so, as your posts simply disappear into oblivion! Of course my blog will always let you get at the original post, as long as you have the appropriate rights – so please make sure you bookmark it, or even better click the “Follow this Blog” link to the right hand side. Or even easier for any Facebook user – just click here!
Firstly, I am too an animal lover – anyone not believing this can contact any of my friends through my Facebook profile available on the original Facebook conversation thread.
Secondly, although I have protected the instigator of such an interesting conversation thread (in fact the most interesting I have ever seen on Facebook), I haven’t protected the identities of any of the subsequent responses, and hereby beg their permission to leave their posts intact to encourage debate and free speech, so as to be accurate and concise. Any links provided in the thread below are simply to Facebook’s homepage, and from there on inward – full Facebook security and Facebook privacy are protected as setup in each individuals personal settings.
But moving forward, prior to reading the conversation thread, I would ask EVERYBODY to watch the following video COMPLETELY, before establishing their own individual opinion and making any comment below:
Have you watched the video FULLY? Really? If not and you comment below, and make any mistake, you are simply making yourself look publically stupid. SO WATCH IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH – START TO FINISH!
Now, due to certain comments, it is only fair to show the eyeliner, make up, and other features as demonstrated by the conversation threads originator. To protect her identity, I have of course censored her picture, so she cannot be recognised by any subsequent search engine visitor to my blog – in fact I have hidden her entirely apart from the make up as mentioned in the thread below:
And let me introduce Miss, Mrs or Ms, lets call her “Anonymous” from now onwards:

Which basically leaves me one thing to say – please feel free to continue the debate below by using the commenting system provided. If you want to bookmark or link to this post there is the URL and link html below too. Should you like to contact me personally, or want your post removed from my site, then of course you can contact me personally, also by using the commenting system.
Please be aware that all further comments will be moderated by my team, prior to being published here. And have a great day! Here is the post and the responses that inspired me to waste two hours in the middle of the night creating this, and I hope the debate will continue – without months of having to scroll through pages, and pages, of Facebook shite:
Anonymous If we had to kill our own meat, we would all be vegetarians. Try and sit through what goes on in Slaughterhouses and Meat processing plants and see how all those animals suffer =(
3 people like this. But 29 so far have commented!
No doubt that eye liner in you are wearing in you profile picture is 100% oil free and not tested on animals either? I think not!
What a pathetic post, and I am so glad you got all these responses. I’m off to shoot a rabbit for supper, and tomorrow a BBQ I think – paradise!

Whilst I support the slaughter of animals for food, preventing over breeding, and vermin, I am certainly not cruel to them and would be regard amongst my peers as an animal lover. I have worked in the countryside (including farming) all of my life.
Killing of animals to eat, and to prevent nuisance is life; not too mention the prevention of disease http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leptospirosis and even by nature itself to curb over breeding in certain species of animal – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myxomatosis
And some people need to used to the idea. As the ‘horse video’ says – people should stop moaning about it, and get on with helping look after these animals. Supposed ‘idiots’ such the Animal Liberation Front etc are quite simply terrorists, and go further to harm them, than prevent harm such as freeing scores of lab animals next to motorways, or destroying them in fires etc.
And lets face it, vegetarians that are not true vegans and eat fish, poultry and dairy products are, put quite simply, hypocrites – fish are dragged from water and suffocated, poultry are killed with a twist to the neck, and dairy products are also extracted with ‘not so humane’ living conditions and treatment of the cows involved. Have you seen some vetinary practices in the maintenance of a cows health?
I also have no grudges against vegetarianism – in fact I eat vegetables myself.
With regards the horses video – we aren’t talking about any animals in particular, and the video fits the topic perfectly – even to the extent it is showing how the threads originators country is exporting meat for money. And how the animal lover who made it, agrees with it!
Maybe
Yes, David – a lot of a looney sometimes. But certainly an informed knowledge when talking about this subject.
With regards my English, apologies for the fast posting of last night, without really ‘proof reading’ it, and at least my country can invent a language. The nearest the US has got is Bill Gates inventing Windows – and calling it “American English” – and I think you’ll find this post has the spelling and grammer of Shakespear; incidently also English.
I think you’ll find my English here, OK!
