On Saturday, September 19th, the Schottenhamel tent is the place to be, if you want to catch the official opening ceremonies. At noontime, 12pm, the lord mayor of Munich will have the honor of tapping the first keg of Oktoberfest beer. Once the barrel has been tapped, all visitors will then be allowed to quench their thirst. It pays to arrive early in order to experience the festivities up close and personal and it’s quite common for visitors to come around 9am to secure good seats. The festival will last until October 4th, 2009.

Another
year becons and we can practically already smell the long drop bogs of
eternal stench from here… which isnt an exaggeration considering they
smell bad enough to make your Right Guard turn left. Early days
but were already contemplating….. Will it top 2008? who will
headline? and who will bring more crack?…. Pete Doherty or Beth
Ditto’s arse? But things that are for certain is Michael Eavis
will still look like his head is upside down, Every single act will do
a version of ‘Valerie’ and if your in the front row during Winehouse
your likely to get a swift jab from her decaying twiglet arms that have
more holes in them than a second hand dartboard. So lets look forward
to it, People doubted it would be amazing in 08 but the chances of it
being a flop was about as likely as Mark Ronson writing his own lyrics.

Shanti è il risultato ottenuto dall’unione di più musicisti, presenti nella scena nazionale.
L’idea di unire i diversi stili musicali, diverse culture e diverse etnie giunge spontanea alla voce del gruppo: Santi in arte Shanti.
E’ la voce di strada, catanese, reggae dancehall a dare un identità alle sonorità del gruppo.
Voce: SHANTI (Santi Leo)
Santi in arte Shanti, nasce a Catania nel 1981, si trasferisce al nord poco dopo. Cresce tra Catania e Torino, tra via Catania e Barriera. Cresce nella BLACK MUSIC e gia’ dai sei anni (1987), grazie alla sorella maggiore, conosce: James Brown, Jackson 5, successivamente Michael, Run-DMC e Afrika Bambaata. Nel 1995 e’ ORO. Si avvicina all’ambiente RAP facendo writing, fa coppia con Argento (SMOOTH KIDD, BARRIERA ARMATA) e transita al Regio di Torino negli anni 96/97/98 dove apprende le dottrine della cultura Hip Hop trasmesse dagli anziani, iniziando a scrivere i primi pezzi. Nel 99, i due con Dhemo (attuale GATE KEEPAZ) e Sword, creano i PNS (PRESENTI NELLA SCENA). Negli anni seguenti sperimenta un rap cantato che si trasformerà, nel 2001, in raggamuffin. Ascoltando i pezzi di Buju Banton, conferma la sua fede. Scrive e regisra pezzi. Nel 2003, interagisce con BLASTY (BEAT MAKER – PRODUCER). E dopo un periodo che lo lega ai tribunali, entra a far parte della MASSIVE. Scopre, conosce, studia e si appassiona, cercando di non perdere alcun evento DANCEHALL nella citta’. Conosce DUB MASTER e SAMBA. Nel 2006 interagisce con diversi artisti della scena black, underground, torinese. Conosce e produce FRATELLO RICI. Dà vita con MALVA e ASKARI, alla connessione A.F.T.(L’ALTRA FACCIA DI TORINO). Successivamente, fonda gli ORIGINAL LATIN COSTE, riunendo i cani sciolti, originari delle coste latine. Insieme agli OLC, oggi, tenta di spingere la reggae music in tutte le sue forme e generi. Insieme a LU FIORELLU (SELECTA SALENTINO) cura la DANCEHALL. Nel 2007 la passione che lo lega alla scena francese lo porta a conoscere la casa discografica SCORBLAZ e a lavorare su ASPIC THE NEXT LEVEL, unico progetto in lingua italiana. Nel 2008 grazie a DJ WAR e ”WARSOUND”, conosce ”SEGNALE DIGITALE”, sviluppa un progetto, su CHATTY RIDDIM, prodotto e diffuso in tutta Italia. Nell’ estate del 2008 con RAFAPAZZO, GIGAWAVE e GHEDDAFI, MANTAGNATA sound, fonda LA CRIANZA REGGAE YARD.

Bassista di diverse band nel torinese, attualmente bassista dell’ Orchestra Multietnica di Torino.
Contrabassista con Diego Deza Huete nel cd: Eco del Sekota.
Batteria: DABBO (Davide Fiale)
Attuale batterista di Bandacadabra (musica balcanica), Filarmonica Nazionale Torino, varie collaborazioni in ambito reggae. Il veterano.
Seconda voce: ANNA (Anna Corsi)
Polistrumentista ha studiato canto jazz e leggero, collaborando con differenti formazioni e dedicandosi a svariati generi musicali.
Chitarra ritmica: OLANDESE (Federico Delrio)
Federico è considerato il ‘clock’… musicista che arriva dal blues con influenze di generi vari ora è naturalmente fondamentale per la band, polistrumentista.
Tastiere e Synth: mArdOk mAkkInEttA (Fabio Parrilla)
Dal’ 90 sulla scena reggae con collaborazioni quali Lipstick and reggae in system, Just last reggae, Ziliota Roots, Local Motion, Tere Deni, Been Yoon, ora il nuovo arrivo: Shanti.
