It’s time to get mega fit again, for the start of the snow season (I’m a seasonal fitness fanatic now; fit as fuck in the winter, and a fat bastard alcoholic in the summer, stuffing my face and generally doing nothing but walking and the odd bit of swimming, surfing and wakeboarding/jetskiing when free). Means you get a totally lactic acid bolloxed 3-4 weeks about November/December, but I’m usually pretty shit hot on most dancefloors come January to April. Quite a good summing up of my present life that!
<br />Oh, sometime it also involves a fast car, girl or Windlip Snowboard too. Here’s a Mclaren so you know what one looks like:
The video with all the snowboarding action to edit for the new charity is here. Thanks Dan and Lisa! It’s great! Loads to use, and looks like some great powder days too.
“Snowboard!” : A shout to alert people ahead that a loose and unleashed snowboard is fast coming down the mountain towards you. Another warning skiers should be familiar with from snowboarders is “Avalanche!” – which tells everyone very clearly that the mountain is coming down the mountain.
Tim has just taken delivery of one of these snowboards designed by Windlip in France. Looking forward to getting it well tested this weekend. Especially with the new Drake Podium bindings:
Just had to give Lisa and Dan a mention (yes, and you Nick) doing their bit for the planet (not to mention giving their vid a bit more coverage, and their snowboard web site another link or two).
If you are into the environment, and want an environmentally friendly snowboard, then look at this – the Eco Rocket:
Are you looking to buy a snowboard? Are you looking to choose a snowboard? A decent snowboard? Windlip Snowboards are custom designed snowboards.
Snowboarding is now less than 2 1/2 months away, and I can’t fuckin’ wait. New board, bindings and boots are all on the cards for this season (and a pair a gloves with new warm linings in them), as is 3 days lift passes a week if poss. Hopefully the dragon ex-wife will let the kids come across too (I hope she’s not coming).
We are on about getting a helmet camera this year instead of chasing each other down the mountain trying to capture any action on a mobile or shitty handheld digital camera, and hopefully some of the top resorts here are going to be loaded with powder. Judging by the shitty cold and wet weather already at times, I’m hoping my dreams will be realized this winter. I even have the beautiful girlfriend thinking about getting some mountain clothes, although I think it will be hard enough to get her on some skis let alone a snowboard.
